Training cum exposure visit program is being organizing by Tripura Bamboo Mission - IL & FS CDI (supported by NBM program) on bamboo propagation and value addition in the state of Mizoram from 12th to 15th January 2009

Tripura Bamboo Mission organized training cum exposure visit program about the nursery management, propagation, and Value addition in the state of Mizoram. The program was a part of National Bamboo Mission activities. A team of 28 members visited bamboo nurseries, plantation and also bamboo based plywood industry. The team visited one bamboo plantation area at Sakawrhmuituai created by Aizawl Forest Division. Three different species of seedling were planting there like Dendrocalamus strictus, Bambusa bamboos and Dendrocalamus hamiltoni, all the species imported clump from Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun.

After that the team visited Sairang under Aizawl Range which specially working with tissue cultured species. All the tissue cultured seeding imported from TERI and Grow More Biotech, Bangalore. In Lengpui there is a bamboo mat ply industry which name is Zonam Matply Industry. The team also visited there to know the process of plywood making from bamboo mat. The manager of Zonam Matply Industry, Mr. Borah demonstrated all the working steps. Really it was a very learnable Visit for bamboo Growers/ farmers to the state of Mizoram.
